Prepping your Home for a Photo Shoot
We will be photographing both the inside and outside of your home, unless prearranged otherwise, including each major room. We normally do not photograph the garage unless it has special features.
If you have special features of your home that are not obvious please let us know about these so they can be included in the shoot.
- Please do not schedule any work or repairs to be done around the house the day of the shoot.
- Contain pets in the garage or out of sight, and remove water/food dishes or pet beds.
- Please remove all vehicles from driveways and do not park directly in front of the house.
- Move garbage, recycling or yard waste cans out of sight.
- Remove all garden tools including hoses and sprinklers.
- Mow and rake yard.
- Sweep driveways, sidewalks, decks and patios.
- Clear off counter tops in kitchen and bathroom areas.
- Make sure all toilet lids are down, and put in a full roll of toilet paper.
- Remove photos, notes and magnets from the refrigerator.
- Open all curtains fully and raise blinds to highest setting.
- Make sure EVERY light in the house is on and each bulb is working.
- Turn ceiling fans, televisions and computers off.
- De-clutter rooms which may be excessively furnished. They do not photograph well.
- Make all beds and tidy bedrooms. Clothes hung, or folded and put away.
- Remove piles of books, newspapers and/or magazines.
- Tuck trash cans out of view.
